Request files on Triofox AI allows users to generate and send a secure link to a specified email address, allowing others to upload files to a designated folder without the need to create an account.
Creating a File Request on Web Portal
Right click on:
- blank space if you want the requested files to be uploaded to the current directory.
- a folder if you want the requested files to be uploaded to the specified folder.
Then, select "Request files".
On the "Request Files" window, configure the request:
- Email: The email you want to request files from. An email will be sent to this address with the upload link.
- Collect Uploader Info: When enabled, user need to provide their first name, last name, email address and company name before uploading files from the request files link. The collected information will be reflected in file changes and record. When disabled, files can be uploaded immediately when the link is visited without the need to provide information.
- Protection: If "Password protection" is selected, you are able to create a password in the "Password" field and users will be required to enter the password when visiting the link before uploading files. If "No password protection" is selected, the user will not be prompted for a password when visiting the link.
- Expiration Time: After the expiration date, users will no longer be able to upload files by visiting the link created by this request.
and click "Request" to finish creating the request.
Creating a File Request on Windows Client
Right click on:
- blank space if you want the requested files to be uploaded to the current directory.
- a folder if you want the requested files to be uploaded to the specified folder.
Note that on Windows 11, you need to click "Show more options" after right clicking to show the full context menu that includes Triofox AI options.
Then, select "Request file".
On the "Request Files" window, configure the request:
- Recipient Email: The email you want to request files from. An email will be sent to this address with the upload link.
- Collect Uploader Info: When enabled, user need to provide their first name, last name, email address and company name before uploading files from the request files link. Uploading Files to File Requests
After a request is created, the recipient will receive an email.
Click on the link provided in the email and the file request upload portal will be opened.
- Enter the password if "Password protection" was selected.
- Enter personal information if "Collect Uploader Info" was selected.
- Click on the "Select files to upload" button to upload files.
Managing File Requests
To view all file requests for a particular drive, log in to the web portal as an admin user, select "Manage" under the drive and navigate to the "Shares" tab.
Under the "Shares" tab, file requests can be identified by the type "request_file".
To view the link created for the file request, click the "Get Link" button on the right.
To delete a request, click on the trash can button on the right.
To manage file requests to a particular folder, right click on that folder and select "More Info".
Under the "Shares" folder, file requests can be identified by titles in the form of "Request file from: [email]" and file requests can be deleted by clicking the trash can button on the right.
