TriofoxAI contains a wide range of permission options that can be configured for specific users in a particular drive or its subfolders.
Navigation to Permissions Configuration:
Log in to the web portal as an admin user or an user with permission to manage drive. On home page, a list of storage drives are displayed. Click on "Manage" for the drive that you want to configure.
Inside the drive management page, select the "Permissions" tab.
Configuration Options:
From this page, you can manage permissions by toggling them on and off.
To manage the permission of a specific subfolder, use the drop-down menu to navigate the folder structure and select the desired subfolder. Toggle on "Disable Inheritance" on the top tool bar to begin modifying subfolder permission or select "Add User/Group" to add new permissions without modifying inherited permissions.
There are several configuration options for permissions, including toggle permissions, inheritance drop-down select and a delete option.
Deny
Toggling it on will deny access to the drive, no matter what other permissions are enabled.
Assignee
Describes who the permission on this row applies to, this could be an user or a group.
List
Toggling on allows the user to navigate and see what folders/files are present in the drive/subfolder. Toggling off will deny access to the drive/subfolder.
Read
Toggling on allows the user to open the more info tab, which includes information on file size, changes, versions and shares.
Create Folder/File
Toggling on allows the user to create folders and files (.docx, .txt, .xlsx and .pptx) on the web portal directly. It also allows upload of any files and folders.
Write
Toggling on allows the user to edit files. Note that read and view permissions might also be needed in order to edit.
Delete
Toggling on allows the user to delete files and folders.
Share
Toggling on allows the user to share files and folders. Note that the permission the user is able to grant through a share is dictated by the user's permission. For example, a user without download permission is unable to share a file with download permission.
Download
Toggling on allows the user to download files. Note that read permission also needs to be on to enable download.
View
Toggling on allows the user to view files through OnlyOffice or the default document viewer.
Inheritance
This setting determines how subfolders and files inherit configured permissions.
- "This folder, subfolders, files": permission is inherited by everything contained in the folder and the folder itself.
- "This folder and subfolders": permission is inherited by the folder itself, subfolders, files/folders within subfolders but not files contained in the root folder.
- "This folder and files": permission is inherited by the folder itself and its files but does not effect subfolders or content within the subfolders.
- "Subfolders and files only": permission is inherited by subfolders and files, but not the folder itself.
- "Subfolders only": permission is inherited by subfolders and content within the subfolders.
- "Files only": permission is inherited by files inside the folder.
- "This folder only": permission only effects the folder itself and does not apply to any of its files or subfolders.
- "Inherited": indicates that the permission is inherited and cannot be modified.
Finally, toggling on "Hide Denied Folder" will hide folders that the user is denied access from when viewing the drive. For example, the user won't be able to see folders with deny on or list off if "Hide Denied Folder" is turned on.
