Sharing Files on Web Portal:
To begin sharing a file, right click on the file you want to share and select the share option.
This will open the share creation window.
- Email: Enter the email you want to share this file to. This could be any internal or external email address.
- Permissions:
- View Online: Toggling on enables the user to preview the file.
- Download: Toggling on enables the user to download the file shared to their local device.
- Change: Toggling on enables the user to edit the file if it is shared to an user registered with the organization.
- Delete: Disabled for file shares since there is nothing inside the share to delete.
- Protection:
- Selecting "Password Protection" will show a field to set a password.
- The password will be required to open the share link sent to user email.
- Expiration Time: Set the time for when the share expires and the user will lose access to the shared file.
Sharing Folders on Web Portal:
To begin sharing a folder, right click on the folder you want to share and select the share option.
This will open the share creation window.
- Email: Enter the email you want to share this folder to. This could be any internal or external email address.
- Permissions:
- View Online: Toggling on enables the user to preview the files in the folder.
- Download: Toggling on enables the user to download the files in the folder shared to their local device.
- Change: Toggling on enables the user to edit files in the folder if it is shared to an user registered with the organization. It also enables uploading files to the folder.
- Delete: Toggling on enables the user to delete files and sub folders in the shared folder.
- Protection:
- Selecting "Password Protection" will show a field to set a password.
- The password will be required to open the share link sent to user email.
- Expiration Time: Set the time for when the share expires and the user will lose access to the shared folder.
Sharing Files on Windows Client:

Managing Share Link
To manage the shares of an entire drive, log in as the admin user on the web portal and click "Manage" under the drive.
Then, select the "Shares" tab. All shares, identified as their type "share_file" and "share_folder", are displayed
To view the link created for each share, click on the "Get Link" button on the right.
To delete an on-going share, click on the "Delete" button to the right.
To access all shares for a particular file or folder, right click on that file or folder, click "More Info" and then navigate to the "Shares" tab. From here, you can see details about shares and delete shares by clicking on the trash can button to the right.
Accessing Share
After a file or folder is shared to an email, that address will receive an email containing links that would provide access to the share without the need to log in or create a Triofox AI account.
If the file or folder is shared to a registered user in Triofox AI, they can also view the share in their "Shared with me drive" on the web portal or any client.
