Users may sometimes need to create a link to a folder in Triofox so that others can access the contents of the folder.
You can use the Share function to create the link.
On the Windows/Mac Client Drive or in the Web Portal, right-click the folder and select Share.
Specify Who Can Access the Share
In the Invite People field:
- If the share creator already knows who should have access to the link, enter the users' email addresses, separated by semicolons (;).
- If the share creator only needs to generate a link to the folder, enter a dummy email address, as shown in the screenshot. Can get the link created at the end of the wizard.
- In both cases, the link generated can be shared with anyone.
Click CONTINUE.
Configure Share Permissions
Under the share permissions, select No Protection and permissions you need.
View / Read Only Access: Can view/download files in the link
View only (download will be disabled): Can only view file in the link. Cannot download
Download Only: Need to download file to local to view it
Click the calendar icon to specify how long the share link will remain valid.
Send email notification when file is downloaded:
When enabled, Triofox sends email notifications to the share creator when content from the shared link is accessed.
Only share files under the current folder:
When enabled, users accessing the shared link can only view files located directly under the shared folder. They cannot access or view its subfolders.
Create and Retrieve the Share Link
Click SHARE/SAVE. A share notification containing the link to the folder will be sent to the specified email addresses.
Click GET LINK to display the share link immediately. You can then copy the link and share it with anyone who needs access.
Retrieve the Share Link After Creation
After a share has been created, the share creator can retrieve the link again at any time.
On the Windows/Mac Client Drive or in the Web Portal, right-click the shared folder and select Share.
Click the Shared with People icon to view all existing shares for the folder.
Locate the desired share and click Copy Link to Clipboard to copy the share link. You can then send the link to anyone who needs access.
