- If the web portal has the same functionality try only using the web portal. If the issue can be reproduced on the web, go to the web portal checklist instead.
- For non-installation issue of the windows client:
- Before reproducing the issue, enable client tracing:
- Enable from client
- Go to sys tray menu Settings tab
- Turn ON “Enable tracing”
- Also enable from Registry Editor
- Go to search bar and type Registry Editor
- Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VertexGraph\Client
- Right click on an empty space and select “New” “DWORD (32-bit) Value)
- Give it a name “TraceLevel”
- Double click on the text “TraceLevel” and give it a value of 4
- Enable from client
- Open debugview log
- Click on the Capture tab and make sure "Capture Win32" and "Capture Global Win32" ae both checked
- Click on the filter button and make sure it only has “*”
- Sanity check that you can see a bunch of entries that start with “[KL][W]
- Reproduce the issue, documenting the steps in Jira along with step-by-step screenshots
- Screenshots should include both from web portal and from Windows client
- Always attach FULL screenshot of the error you are seeing
- Wait for 1-2min
- Disable trace: go to sys tray menu Settings tab and turn off “Enable tracing” toggle
- Save the trace from the debugview and upload it to the Jira
- Zip the folder: C:\Users\\AppData\Local\klclient\databases\audits and upload the zipped file to Jira
- Before reproducing the issue, enable client tracing:
- If reporting bug for the Windows Client installer
- Enable the tracing
- Open Registry Editor
- Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
- Expand SOFTWARE
- Right click SOFTWARE and select New Key
- Rename the new key to VertexGraph
- Right click VertexGraph and select New Key
- Rename the new key to Client
- Left click on the GatewayAgent folder (key)
- Right click on an empty space and select “New” “DWORD (32-bit) Value)
- Give it a name “TraceLevel”
- Double click on the text “TraceLevel” and give it a value of 4
- Open the debugview as administrator
- Click on the Capture tab and make sure "Capture Win32" and "Capture Global Win32" ae both checked
- Click on the filter button and make sure it only has “*”
- Sanity check that you can see a bunch of entries that start with “[KL][W]
- Installed the windows client and save the debugview log file then upload it to the Jira
- Enable the tracing
